Joe Hugar out as president of Sharon Regional Medical Center

Joe Hugar, president of Sharon (Pa.) Regional Medical Center, is no longer working at the hospital, according to The Herald.

Hospital officials did not give a reason for Mr. Hugar’s departure.

He became the hospital’s president in September 2017, shortly after Dallas-based Steward Health Care acquired the a 220-bed, acute care hospital.

Since 2017, the hospital has added more than 200 jobs, The Herald reports.

Ronald Bierman will replace Mr. Hugar as interim president of Sharon Regional. He is president of Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren, Ohio, another Steward facility.
