Joan K. Richards. President and CEO of Crozer-Keystone Health System (Springfield, Pa.). Ms. Richards joined Crozer-Keystone Health System in 1982. She worked her way up to COO and president of the Crozer-Keystone Hospitals before succeeding Gerald Miller as president and CEO in 2007 when he retired. As the senior executive leader, Ms. Richards oversees five hospitals, several outpatient centers, a sports club and a comprehensive physician network of primary care and specialty practices. Under Ms. Richard’s leadership, Crozer-Keystone began pursuing merger opportunities. In October, Crozer-Keystone reached a preliminary deal to be acquired by Prospect Medical Holdings, a Los Angeles-based for-profit health system that owns and operates 13 hospitals in California, Texas and Rhode Island.
