Jeff Sanders to depart MaineHealth

Jeff Sanders is leaving his role as president of the MaineHealth southern region.

Mr. Sanders, who previously served as president of Portland-based Maine Medical Center, will depart the role later this summer, according to a health system news release.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve the patients and care team members of Maine Medical Center and MaineHealth,” he said in the release. “As a Mainer with close connections to MMC, I am proud to support this community and the timing is right for my transition to pursue new opportunities.”

Mr. Sanders has served as president of the southern region of MaineHealth since November 2022, according to his LinkedIn page.

Joel Botler, MD, chief medical officer for the MaineHealth southern region, has been selected as regional chief medical officer and as interim regional president.

The southern region includes Maine Medical Center, Biddeford-based Southern Maine Health Care and related ambulatory practices.
