James D. Wells promoted to CNO role at EASTAR: 5 things to know

James “Jim” Wells, RN, BSN, has been promoted to CNO of EASTAR Health System in Muskogee, Okla., an affiliate of Franklin, Tenn.-based hospital operator Capella Healthcare, effective Feb. 1.

Here are five things to know about Mr. Wells.

1. He has nearly two decades of nursing experience.

2. He joined EASTAR in September 2013 as chief quality officer and assistant CNO.

3. Prior to EASTAR, he was chief quality officer at sister facility Capital Medical Center in Olympia, Wash.

4. He previously served in other nursing leadership roles with hospitals in New Mexico, Arizona and Alabama. 

5. Mr. Wells earned an associate degree in nursing from Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, Ala., and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from University of Phoenix.  He is in the process of earning a master’s degree in healthcare, quality and safety from University of Alabama at Birmingham.
