IU Health Bloomington names Matthew Bailey COO: 4 things to know

Matthew Bailey has been named COO of IU Health Bloomington (Ind.), effective Oct. 5.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Bailey.

1. As a member of the organization’s regional senior leadership team, he will work closely with the regional vice presidents, physicians and hospital leadership to develop strategic and operational plans. He will also play a key role in the development, design and construction of the new regional academic health campus in Bloomington, which will be home to a new IU Health Bloomington Hospital and outpatient center.

2. Mr. Bailey has more than three decades of healthcare experience in community-based hospitals.

3. He most recently was president and CEO of IU Health West Hospital in Avon, Ind., where he led the operational, clinical and strategic direction for the hospital.

4. Prior to joining IU Health, Mr. Bailey was president and CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind.
