Inova names clinical operations chief

Susan Carroll, a 28-year Inova veteran, will become chief of clinical enterprise operations of Fairfax, Va.-based Inova Health System, a five-hospital system, effective Aug. 3. 

Ms. Carroll has served the system in several leadership roles, including director of business affairs and COO at Leesburg, Va.-based Inova Loudoun Hospital, CEO of Inova Alexandria (Va.) Hospital and vice president of the system’s cancer service line. 

She also “provides daily direction and operations for the system-wide functions of supply chain management, security and emergency management and patient support service,” according to Inova

Ms. Carroll currently serves as president of Inova Loudoun Hospital and a senior vice president at Inova. In her upcoming role, she will succeed Toni Ardabell, RN, who is retiring at the end of 2026. 

Raj Chand, MD, president of Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Va., will serve as interim president of the Loudoun hospital.
