Illinois Hospital Association Names 2011 Board of Trustees Chair

Gary Kaatz, president and CEO of Rockford Health System, has been elected chair of the Illinois Hospital Association’s 2011 board of trustees, according to an IHA news release.

Mr. Kaatz has been a member of the IHA’s board of trustees since 2005 and currently serves as chair-elect. He succeeds Patrick Magoon, president and CEO of the Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Mr. Kaatz has served as president and CEO of Rockford Health System since 2000. He has spent the last 10 years positioning the system as the region’s leader in critical care services and has worked to enhance quality and patient safety across all local entities. He has also been a board member of the American Hospital Association’s Regional Policy Board.
