Illinois hospital names chief nurse

McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Ill., has selected Wayne Laramie, BSN, RN, to serve as vice president and chief nursing officer. 

Mr. Laramie brings more than 30 years of nursing leadership experience to the role. He previously served as CNO at Rockford, Ill.-based OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, where he oversaw efforts that contributed to improved staffing levels, higher patient satisfaction scores and a Magnet designation.

He also previously served as vice president of patient care and CNO at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine, Wis., where he helped improve the hospital’s Leapfrog Patient Safety Grade and CMS Star Rating, according to an April 18 news release.  

At McDonough, Mr. Laramie will oversee nursing operations across numerous departments, including acute care/ICU, surgical services, emergency services and case management.
