Illinois hospital CEO steps down; ambulatory director steps up

Scott Boston, MD, has resigned from his role as president and CEO of Jacksonville (Ill.) Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Boston has served the hospital since 2004, according to a Jan. 6 news release from Springfield, Ill.-based Memorial Health. He was the emergency department’s medical director before he became CEO in 2019.

He plans to resume practicing as an emergency medicine physician in a clinical or academic capacity. 

Trevor Huffman, the hospital’s director of ambulatory services, has been named CEO. He joined Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in 1998 as coordinator of outreach services and was named to the director role in 2019.
