HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital names CNO

Belleville, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System St. Elizabeth’s Hospital appointed Elizabeth Govero CNO, Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Here are three things to know about Ms. Govero.

1. She most recently was CNO of Highland, Ill.-based HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital for the past two years.

2. Ms. Govero was previously interim president and CEO of St. Joseph’s for nine months. She also served as the director of nursing operations at St. Elizbeth’s, nurse director for surgery services at St. Louis-based Barnes-Jewish Hospital and adjunct faculty at St. Louis-based Goldfarb School of Nursing.

3. She earned a master’s of science in healthcare and nursing administration and is a certified medical-surgical nurse. Ms. Govero is a doctoral candidate at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
