Holston Valley Medical Center CEO resigns: 6 things to know

Tim Attebery, CEO of Kingsport, Tenn.-based Holston Valley Medical Center, is resigning for a new job opportunity.

Here are six things to know:

1. Mr. Attebery is leaving to serve as CEO of the American College of Cardiology.

2. He became CEO of Holston Valley Medical Center in 2013.

3. During his tenure, he expanded orthopedic services in the region as well as oversaw the addition of two cardiac catheterization labs.

4. Previously, he served as vice president of cardiovascular services and administrative leader of the heart care service line at Kingsport-based Wellmont Health System, now known as Ballad Health. Holston Valley Medical Center is a part of Ballad Health.

5. Monty McLaurin will serve as interim CEO of Holston Valley Medical Center.

6. The leadership transition will take place over the next six weeks.
