HCA Texas hospital taps chief medical officer

HCA Houston Healthcare West has appointed William Porter, MD, as chief medical officer, effective March 17.

Dr. Porter joins the 272-bed hospital from Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health, where he served as a medical director of occupational medicine, according to his LinkedIn page.

With 28 years of experience in the U.S. Army, Dr. Porter has a strong foundation in military and public health medicine, according to a March 21 news release. 

He also serves as an adjunct clinical professor of military medicine at Texas A&M University School of Medicine in Bryan.
