HCA Florida taps regional chief medical officer

Gainesville-based HCA Florida Healthcare named Alejandro “Alex” Paya, DO, chief medical officer of the West Florida Division.

Dr. Paya will oversee the clinical quality and patient safety at 18 hospitals and 36 emergency locations, according to a June 12 system news release.

Previously, he served as CMO at HCA Florida JFK Hospital in Atlantis.
