HCA taps president for 8 hospitals

Salt Lake City-based MountainStar Healthcare, part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, has appointed Evan Ray president, effective March 18.

Mr. Ray succeeds Greg Angle, who is retiring after serving as mountain division president for the past 10 years. He now presides over the division, which includes eight MountainStar hospitals in Utah, as well as sister facilities in Alaska and Idaho. 

Overall, the mountain division comprises more than 100 care sites that record about 1.5 million patient interactions each year. 

Mr. Ray most recently served as the executive vice president and chief administrative officer of HCA Healthcare’s Gulf Coast Division in Houston. He previously served as president of St. Vincent’s Birmingham (Ala.) and St. Vincent’s Chilton hospitals, part of St. Louis-based Ascension.

Mr. Ray has a master’s degree in healthcare administration and another in business administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
