Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has named Virginia Tenpenny its vice president of community engagement, effective Jan. 12.
Ms. Tenpenny will succeed Joanne Pulles, who is retiring after 26 years with HCA, according to a Dec. 9 news release.
In her new role, Ms. Tenpenny will lead HCA’s community engagement efforts and will oversee social and charitable investments, community outreach, strategic partnerships and employee giving and volunteering.
Prior to her new role, Ms. Tenpenny served as chief social impact officer of NationSwell, an executive membership community. She also served in executive roles at Starbucks.
