HCA system in California names CEO

Phil Buttell was selected to succeed Natalie Mussi as CEO of the Los Robles Health System that includes HCA Healthcare’s Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif., the Ventura County Star reported.

Effective April 8, Mr. Buttell will oversee Los Robles’ three hospital campuses and four outpatient clinics while leading a team of more than 1,800 employees, more than 600 medical staff and more than 375 volunteers, according to a news release shared with Becker’s

He joins Los Robles after serving as CEO of Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan., another HCA facility, since 2019. Previously, he also served as COO of HCA’s Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo.

Ms. Mussi announced in January that she would step down from her post March 1 to assume a new role as vice president of operations for Surgery Ventures, a national surgery center network owned by HCA. 

HCA is based in Nashville, Tenn.
