Richard Lear has been appointed CIO of Austin, Texas-based St. David’s HealthCare and Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare’s Central and West Texas division, effective July 1.
Mr. Lear will lead IT operations for the nine-hospital system, which operates under a partnership between HCA and two Texas nonprofits, St. David’s Foundation and Georgetown Health Foundation, according to a July 14 news release shared with Becker’s.
He brings more than 30 years of IT leadership experience, including managing operations, strategic execution, enterprise alignment and workforce development. He most recently served as director of operations for St. David’s HealthCare’s Information Technology Group division, and previously held IT director roles at St. David’s Medical Center and St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, two of the system’s largest facilities, both in Austin.
