HCA Midwest hospital CEO to retire

Bret Kolman will retire as CEO of Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo., in January 2024.

Mr. Kolman has led the 285-bed hospital, part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, since 2018. He began his healthcare career with the HCA system in 1992, with time spent as CFO of Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Mo., and CEO of Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, La.

Centerpoint Medical Center is part of HCA Midwest Health, which is made up of seven hospitals. 

"I want to thank Bret for his many years of service to our organization and for being an exemplary leader to his team members and colleagues throughout HCA Midwest Health," Keith Zimmerman, president of HCA Midwest Health, said in a memo to employees shared with Becker's. "He will be working with us in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition for his successor, and a search for the next Centerpoint leader is underway."
