HCA Midwest appoints hospital chief medical officer 

Overland Park, Kan.-based HCA Midwest Health has selected Julian Yang, MD, as chief medical officer of Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Dr. Yang comes to the 590-bed hospital from Murfreesboro, Tenn.-based Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford, where he’s served as CMO for the past four years. Prior to this role, he was the medical director of the neurosciences clinical service unit at Duke University Health System in Durham, N.C.

Dr. Yang also previously served as director of tele-neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Medical School in Dallas, according to an Aug. 10 news release shared with Becker’s.

HCA Midwest Health, part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, consists of 150 locations including hospitals, emergency rooms, physician offices, urgent care centers, surgery centers and specialty physician practices, according to its website
