HCA hospital taps assistant chief medical officer

A 119-bed hospital in Smyrna, Tenn., named David Geckle, MD, as its assistant chief medical officer, according to a news release. 

Dr. Geckle is a neurosurgeon with nearly 30 years of clinical and leadership experience at Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare. Throughout his career, he has held several key leadership roles, including chief of medical staff, according to the release. 

He will begin his role at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center — part of Brentwood, Tenn.-based TriStar Health, an affiliate of HCA — on June 29.
