HCA Florida Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee named Cory Mead CEO, effective March 30.

Mr. Mead joins the hospital, part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, with more than a decade of leadership experience within the system, according to an April 1 news release.

He most recently served as CEO of HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital, a 271-bed acute care facility in Tamarac. During his tenure, he oversaw more than $60 million in capital projects, including the opening of a cardiac catheterization lab in 2025.

Mr. Mead previously served as COO of Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Kansas, COO of TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., and associate COO of Reston Hospital Center in Virginia.

His appointment comes less than a year after the hospital broke ground on a new 42-bed patient tower, a project expected to be completed in 2027.
