Riverside (Calif.) Community Hospital — part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare — has appointed Shesh Rao, MD, chief medical officer.
Dr. Rao will step into the role Nov. 17. He joins HCA from St. Louis-based Ascension, where he served as CMO of its Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago for seven years. Under his leadership, the hospital saw significant reductions in length of stay and readmission rates, according to a Nov. 10 news release.
At Riverside Community Hospital, Dr. Rao will oversee efforts to improve care quality, physician engagement and graduate medical education.
Riverside Community Hospital is a level 1 trauma center.
