Hawaii Health Systems names Peter Klune CEO of Kauai state hospitals

Hawaii Health Systems Corp. has named Peter Klune permanent regional CEO of the Kauai state hospitals, according to Pacific Business News. Mr. Klune’s new role will begin April 1.

The HHSC Kauai Region includes Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital and West Kauai Clinics in Waimea and Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital in Kapaa, as well as outpatient facilities in Waimea, Port Allen, Kalaheo and Kapaa. A new HHSC urgent care clinic is slated to open this spring at the Shops at Kukuiula in Poipu.

Mr. Klune succeeds Scott McFarland, who has served as interim CEO since November 2013.
