Mr. Jackson assumed the top post at the 208-bed hospital in 2009, after working there since 2000.
The board decided in a 3-2 vote not to renew Mr. Jackson’s contract. A recent financial audit showed the hospital had lost $22 million as a result of Medicare and Medicaid funding cuts. This is the second consecutive year that the hospital has lost millions of dollars, according the report.
The board named Dawne Holmes interim CEO as they begin the search for Mr. Jackson’s replacement.
