As leader of SGMC Health’s new patient support and transportation services department, Mr. Jones will oversee the system’s patient transportation and patient support services teams across all campuses, according to a May 1 news release. SGMC said the creation of the new department and leadership role is part of an effort to improve patient safety, efficiency and experience.
Mr. Jones most recently served as the hospital system’s retail and catering manager. “In that role, he supported daily operations across multiple dining venues while collaborating closely with clinical leaders and hospital leadership to meet operational and service standards,” the release said.
He joined SGMC Health in 2021 through Morrison Health Care — the organization’s contracted food and nutrition services provider, according to the release. He has more than 30 years of experience in hospitality and food service management.
