Geisinger CIO heads to Piedmont Healthcare

Mike Angelakos, DrPH, has been named CIO of Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare effective Oct. 13.

Dr. Angelakos most recently served as CIO of Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger, where he had worked since 2021. Before that, he spent more than 17 years in IT leadership roles at Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health.

He succeeds Geoff Brown, who retired after more than a decade at Piedmont.

Piedmont is an $8.8 billion system with 27 hospitals and over 2,100 locations across Georgia.
