Geisinger appoints Janet Tomcavage chief nursing exec

Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System selected Janet Tomcavage, RN, to serve as chief nursing executive, effective Aug. 1.

Ms. Tomcavage was most recently Geisinger’s chief population officer. She recently led the launch of Geisinger at Home, a home-based care model. She has held several leadership roles at Geisinger during her 38 years working at the system, including chief administrative officer of the Geisinger Health Plan.

Ms. Tomcavage has served in leadership roles in the American Nurse Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She was the first nurse from Geisinger to receive the Pennsylvania Nightingale Award for clinical excellence in an advanced nursing role.
