Fresenius Medical Care North America names chief medical information officer: 3 points

Waltham, Mass.-based Fresenius Medical Care North America selected Ahmad Sharif, MD, to serve as chief medical information officer.

Fresenius Medical Care is a network of 2,200-plus dialysis facilities, outpatient cardiac and vascular laboratories as well as urgent care centers.

Here are three points:

1. Dr. Sharif previously served as the vice president of clinical health information technology at Fresenius Kidney Care, a subsidiary of Fresenius Medical Care North America.

2. He also served as the chief medical information officer of New Braunfels, Texas-based Resolute Health System.

3. He holds a master’s degree in public health and management from the University of North Texas in Denton.
