Freeman Health names chief medical officer of Missouri, Kansas markets

Joplin, Mo.-based Freeman Health System named Barbara Miller, MD, chief medical officer of the Missouri/Kansas market.

Dr. Miller will provide leadership and clinical oversight across the two state markets and help advance quality, patient safety and clinical excellence, according to a July 21 system news release. 

“I am honored to join Freeman Health System and serve alongside such a dedicated team of physicians, providers and healthcare professionals,” Dr. Miller said. “I look forward to working together to advance clinical excellence and improve the health of the patients and communities we serve.”

Dr. Miller succeeds Lee Harwell, MD, who will help transition responsibilities through Aug. 12.
