Baton Rouge, La.-based Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System appointed Richard R. Vath, MD, president and CEO.

Five notes:

1. Dr. Vath has served as interim leader of the five-hospital system since March. He took over following the ouster of Mike McBride.

2. Most recently, Dr. Vath served as the organization’s chief transformation officer.

3. He joined the health system in 2006, prior to which he worked in private practice.

4. Dr. Vath has served as CMO of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge.

5. He completed his pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
