Former Roper St. Francis COO joins Medical University Hospital’s exec team: 4 notes

Charleston-based Medical University of South Carolina tapped Matthew Severance to serve as chief of affiliations and network development at Medical University Hospital in Charleston, according to a report by The Post and Courier.

Here are four notes:

1. Mr. Severance previously served as COO of Roper St. Francis and CEO of Roper Hospital, both located in Charleston.

2. He left the roles in September after Roper St. Francis eliminated the COO role.

3. He is a past chairman of the South Carolina Hospital Association’s board of trustees.

4. Mr. Severance’s new role will be “critical to MUSC Health’s ongoing efforts to expand access to the clinical, research and educational expertise” of Medical University Hospital, according to a press release obtained by The Post and Courier.
