Mr. Smith has served as CEO of Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, Ga., since 2008. Prior to joining Fannin, he was assistant CEO of Lake Wales from 2005 to 2007.
He succeeds former CEO Michael J. Yungmann, who left Lake Wales this month to take the CEO position at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Va. Assistant CEO Eric Lachance will serve as interim CEO until Mr. Smith begins work in August.
