Shands at the University of Florida Names COO

Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville has named Edward Jimenez chief operating officer and senior vice president, according to a Gainesville Sun report.

Mr. Jimenez has 15 years of healthcare administrative experience and comes to Shands from St. Joseph’s Healthcare System in Paterson, N.J. In his new position, he will direct operations for Shands at UF, Shands Children’s Hospital, Shands Cancer Hospital and Shands Critical Care Center.

Mr. Jimenez starts work on Oct. 20.
