Florida hospital taps CEO

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health Medical Center has named Manuel "Manny" Linares CEO.

Mr. Linares has more than 30 years of healthcare experience, primarily in South Florida, according to a Jan. 9 news release shared with Becker's. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of Touro Infirmary, a 360-bed hospital that's part of New Orleans-based LCMC Health.

He takes the reins from Aurelio Fernandez III, who has been serving as the hospital's interim CEO. Mr. Fernandez is transferring into a new role at Fort Lauderdale-based Broward Health's corporate offices, where he will "manage special projects with members of the health system's executive team," per the news release.
