Florida Hospital Medical Group appoints new CEO: 5 things to know

Florida Hospital Medical Group, which is affiliated with Orlando-based Florida Hospital and a subsidiary of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System, has appointed Howard Drenth CEO.

Here are five things to know about Mr. Drenth.

1. His first day on the job will be July 25.

2. Most recently, Mr. Drenth was president and CEO of Presence Medical Group, of Presence Health System in Chicago.

3. During his tenure with Presence Medical Group, he led the re-engineering of the 350-provider, $100-million, 100-location physician network, according to a news release.

4. Mr. Drenth is also a veteran of the Kettering Health Network in Dayton, Ohio, and BayCare Health System in Tampa, Fla.

5. He earned a master's degree in management from Nazareth College, based in Pittsford, N.Y., and a bachelor's degree in physical education from Albion (Mich.) College.
