Mr. Ott first joined Fitzgibbon Hospital in 1987 as the director of marketing, strategic planning and physician recruitment. He was promoted to CEO in 1992. During his tenure as CEO, the hospital opened a 99-bed skilled nursing facility, underwent a $10 million expansion, added a cancer center, established a partnership with Missouri Valley College to start a bachelor’s program for nursing and partnered with local communities to open four rural health clinics.
For his work, Mr. Ott was recognized in 2013 with the “Visionary Leadership Award,” by the Missouri Hospital Association.
The hospital’s board has a succession plan in place and is expected to announce Mr. Ott’s replacement in the next few weeks, according to the report.
