Duke LifePoint Virginia hospital CEO heads to North Carolina

Sudandra Ratnasamy, BSN, has been named CEO of Rutherford Regional Health System, a Duke LifePoint facility in Rutherfordton, N.C., effective June 23.

Ms. Ratnasamy brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, with a background in improving access to care and patient and employee satisfaction, according to a May 27 hospital news release.

She most recently served as CEO of Twin County Regional Healthcare, a Duke LifePoint facility in Galax, Va., where she led resource-sharing efforts during Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health’s response to Hurricane Helene, including staffing and operational coordination, the release said.

Ms. Ratnasamy succeeds Sue Shugart, who was named CEO of Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde, N.C., and market president of Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva and Swain Community Hospital in Bryson City.
