Duke LifePoint hospital in North Carolina names COO

Susan Burroughs was appointed COO of Wilson (N.C.) Medical Center, according to a Jan. 9 news release shared with Becker’s.

Ms. Burroughs began her new role Jan. 4. She previously served as vice president of operations at the hospital, overseeing cardiac services, laboratory and imaging services, respiratory therapy, and the outpatient wound care center, according to the release.

In her new role, she will oversee hospital operations, service line growth and strategic initiatives.

Ms. Burroughs’ prior leadership experience includes roles at Charleston, S.C.-based MUSC Health, Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, and another Lifepoint Health facility. 

Wilson Medical Center, a 294-bed hospital, is part of Duke LifePoint Healthcare — a joint venture of Durham, N.C.-based Duke Health and Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health.
