According to a Morning Call report, Dr. Swinfard has served as CMO of LVHN since 2003. He said he chose the network as his employer for its balance of scholarly activity and patient care — a combination he says healthcare reform will not undo, but may affect.
He said he will focus the hospital’s efforts on improving patient health behaviors, keeping a close watch on readmissions and hospital infections and maintaining the network’s stellar record as a community health provider. According to the report, the value of educational benefits and uncompensated care LVHN provided to the community last year totaled more than $200 million.
