Dr. Joseph Cacchione to serve as Ascension Medical Group president

St. Louis-based Ascension named Joseph Cacchione, MD, president of Ascension Medical Group. The group is Ascension’s the national provider organization that includes 6,500 employed providers, spanning 16 states and the District of Columbia.

Dr. Cacchione, a cardiologist by training, most recently served as chairman of operations and strategy for Cleveland Clinic’s Heart & Vascular Institute. Prior to that, he was executive vice president and chief of quality and operations at Saint Vincent Health System in Erie, Pa.

Dr. Cacchione is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology.
