Dr. Jon Pryor tapped as president of Essentia Health’s East Market: 5 notes

Duluth, Minn.-based Essentia Health announced May 28 that Jon Pryor, MD, will serve as president of its East Market.

Five notes:

1. Dr. Pryor previously served as CEO of Hennepin Healthcare System in Minneapolis.

2. He has also served as CEO of the Medical College of Physicians, the clinical practice group of the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

3. Dr. Pryor is the former chair of the urologic surgery department at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

4. In addition to his medical training, he has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.

5. In his new role, Dr. Pryor will oversee Essentia Health facilities in Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin.
