Dr. Frank Ghinassi tapped to head Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care: 5 things to know

Frank Ghinassi, PhD, has been named CEO of Trenton, N.J.-based Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care, effective in July.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Ghinassi.

1. He is a psychologist and associate professor in psychiatry who has worked with clinical and administrative teams at the University of Pittsburgh.

2. At the University of Pittsburgh's Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, Dr. Ghinassi has provided leadership and direction to more than 200 psychiatrists and 2,000 staff as vice president for performance measurement, quality improvement, patient safety and regulatory compliance, according to a news release. 

3. He also actively participated in the training and mentorship of psychiatric residents and doctoral psychology interns.

4. During his tenure at the WPIC, unplanned, 30-day psychiatric hospital readmissions at WPIC have decreased from highs of 18 percent to as low as 9 percent, officials said.

5. Since 1990, Dr. Ghinassi has been an adjunct faculty member of the Center for Creative Leadership, where, as a board certified executive coach, he provides coaching and guidance to Fortune 500 executives and C-suite leadership teams.
