Dr. Anthony Coletta tapped to lead Independence Blue Cross' Facilitated Health Networks: 5 things to know

Anthony Coletta, MD, has joined Philadelphia-based Independence Blue Cross as president of Independence's Facilitated Health Networks and executive vice president of Independence.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Coletta.

1. He started his position Feb. 1.

2. In his role, Dr. Coletta, a board-certified general surgeon, will lead the development of Independence's relationships with physicians and health systems, provider contracts and informatics and predictive analytics capabilities, officials said.

3. He will continue to serve as president and CEO of West Conshohocken, Pa.-based Tandigm Health, a network of more than 380 physicians, which he helped to conceive and launch in 2014. 

4. Before leading Tandigm, Dr. Coletta was senior vice president of Independence and one of the principal architects of the Tandigm Health business plan.

5. Previously, he was executive vice president and CMO of Holy Redeemer Health System in Huntingdon Valley, Pa.
