Doctors Hospital of Manteca (Calif.) CEO Ikenna Mmeje is departing for a new job opportunity, according to a Manteca Bulletin report.

1. Mr. Mmeje served as the hospital’s CEO since February 2015.

2. During his tenure, the hospital opened the new Manteca Surgery Center, expanded the emergency department and achieved certified primary stroke center status, according to Jeff Koury, CEO of Dallas-based Tenet’s western region, the parent company of the hospital.

3. Mr. Koury also noted Mr. Mmeje is leaving Doctors Hospital “to be closer to his extended family,” according to the report.
