DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan CEO to exit

Kathy Donovan, MSN, RN, CEO of Children’s Hospital of Michigan and Detroit Medical Center Group COO, is leaving the organization, according to a hospital statement shared with Becker’s.

The statement said Ms. Donovan’s departure is effective Dec. 23 and for personal reasons.

“We thank Kathy for her contributions to the DMC and wish her all the best,” the statement read.

Ms. Donovan was named DMC Group COO in November 2021 and has served as CEO of Children’s Hospital of Michigan since 2020. She has accepted a new role as COO of Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System.

Archie Drake, BSN, COO of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare’s Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas, will serve as interim CEO for Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
