Dignity hospital appoints chief medical officer

Anjali Rao, MD, has been named chief medical officer of Redwood City, Calif.-based Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital.

Dr. Rao, an OB-GYN, has served in several leadership roles at the 208-bed hospital over the past 15 years, according to a March 5 news release sent to Becker’s. She founded and directed an OB hospitalist program and previously chaired the department of obstetrics and gynecology.

In her new role, Dr. Rao will serve as a liaison between hospital administration and medical staff. She will lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. 

San Francisco-based Dignity Health is part of Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health.
