Dignity Health leader heads to Trinity Health

Edward Willard was appointed chief strategy and business development officer at Newtown Square, Pa.-based Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, a member of Trinity Health of Livonia, Mich.

Mr. Willard began his new role Nov. 3 at Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, where he oversees strategic planning, business development and physician alignment initiatives, according to an Oct. 30 health system news release.

He joins Trinity Health from Dignity Health, where he was market director of strategy for the Arizona and Nevada division.

At Dignity, he led the development of new service lines and centers of excellence — including cardiology, bariatrics, digestive disease, orthopedics, robotics and hernia care — while evaluating mergers, partnerships and campus expansion projects, the release said. His work also included close collaboration with physicians. 

Dignity is part of Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health. Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is a regional health system that includes St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pa., Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Del., Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pa., Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia and Holy Cross Health in Maryland.
