Dayton (Ohio) Children’s Hospital has named Robert Steele, MD, as president and CEO, effective July 1.
Dr. Steele will succeed Debbie Feldman, who will retire June 30 after 14 years in the role, according to a March 31 hospital news release.
Dr. Steele currently serves as chief innovation and strategy officer for Children’s Mercy Kansas City (Mo.), a 386-bed health system with two campuses. He created and implemented a five-year strategic plan that included a joint venture for a new mental health hospital with 48 beds.
He began his career as a pediatrician in 1997 and practiced for 17 years in Springfield, Mo. Dr. Steele stepped into his current role at Children’s Mercy in 2019; before that, he was chief strategy officer of Little Rock-based Arkansas Children’s.
