Jonathan Welch, MD, was named COO of Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth Health.
Dr. Welch will join Dartmouth Health later this summer from Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger, where he served as chief population health officer and chief innovation officer, according to a June 30 health system news release.
At Geisinger, Dr. Welch oversaw primary care, behavioral health and urgent care services and led systemwide initiatives on quality, access and operational efficiency.
As COO, he will work to improve operational alignment across Dartmouth Health and support shared services, including information technology, pharmacy, facilities and supply chain, according to the release.
Dartmouth Health, New Hampshire’s only academic health system, includes its flagship hospital, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and the state’s only children’s hospital.
