Daniel K. Podolsky, MD. President of University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas). Dr. Podolsky is president of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, a position he has held since 2008. Internationally renowned for his contributions to the understanding of intestinal inflammatory diseases, Dr. Podolsky was previously associated with Boston-based Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, including 20 years of service as chief of gastroenterology, and more recently as chief academic officer of Partners HealthCare. Dr. Podolsky is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine, formerly the Institute of Medicine, of the National Academies and a former President of the American Gastroenterological Association, from which he received the 2009 Julius Friedenwald Medal for Distinguished Service for his lifelong contributions to the field of gastroenterology.
